The Barber of Seville room was light and spacious, beautifully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable. Laura, the host, is a kind and gracious person, very helpful with her knowledge of Trieste. She was an excellent communicator and rapidly responded to all questions. The whole apartment is lovely, breakfast in a charming kitchen and a terrace outside. The location in Trieste makes for an easy walk from the train and to all Trieste attractions. We loved it!

Charming old world bed and breakfast with a lovely host. Laura really looked after us and made our stay special. She went out of her way to help us when my husband left his jacket behind. Much appreciated.

Laura, our host, was amazing! Kind, communicative, efficient, accommodating. The building of the B&B is very old but the accommodations were beautifully decorated and updated with local artwork. Breakfast was yummy. Definitely recommend!

We had a very good time in Trieste. Laura is a beautiful woman and her rooms are fantastic. She told us about interesting places and restaurants in Trieste. From her rooms you can reach the center of the city or the sea in a few minutes. I am sure we will come back soon.

Laura was an excellent host. Her creative talents shine through this unique B&B, with beautiful details everywhere you look. Laura and her mother were warm, welcoming, and made every effort to speak English. I'm currently travelling around Europe, and their breakfast was the most beautifully presented I have seen. The location is perfect – a short walk from the beautiful town square and canal. Excellent value for money, would highly recommend.

Atelier Lidia Polla is a charming, eclectic B&B overflowing with art and antiques and the warmth of its owners. Every piece within, the furniture, the rings in the jewelry case, the names and themes of the rooms themselves, seems to have a fascinating backstory and link to the family's long history in art and music. Laura and her mother took excellent care of us, making sure we ate way too much at breakfast on their plant-lined terrace. That was the free option. I can only imagine what the extra breakfast entails! I can't recommend Atelier Lidia strongly enough, really an exceptional place. Stay here if you get the chance!

I cannot say enough about Atelier Lidia Polla. Beautiful spaces full of wonderful art and design pieces, creativity everywhere you look. Comfortable, spotless rooms and a beautiful terrace garden. Plentiful, homemade breakfast in a marvelous eclectic kitchen. Laura and her mother Silva are wonderful hosts and excellent company. Laura's recommendations and guidance made my visit truly special and memorable. Go, stay, enjoy!

What a lovely Bed & Breakfast! I have nothing but positive things to say about my stay. It’s obvious from the moment you step through the door that owner Laura has gone above and beyond in every aspect - the three rooms are wonderfully decorated and filled with beautiful furniture and artwork, the bed and sheets are of very high quality, the kitchen is lovely and the perfect place to eat breakfast and have a chat. I travel a lot and this is honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had. You can tell that Laura has worked really hard to transform her grandmother’s home into a welcoming space for guests to enjoy while still maintaining original touches and its historic flair. Laura and her mother Silva went out of their way to share their knowledge of Trieste and help me with my research. I am very grateful and so glad to have met them. I hope to be back soon!

Laura is a fantastic host, extremely kind and very passionate about her lovely B&B. She is the perfect BnB host. The room is comfortable, breakfast is very tasty and plenty of choices, and the location is excellent. Laura had some great recommendations for local bars and restaurants. Congratulations to Laura for providing such a wonderful accommodation.

We had a great stay in this lovely B&B. Laura, the host, is super nice and really helpful, she gave us advice on where to go - even bus numbers and stops - where to eat, etc.\n\nThe breakfast was very good, the house very clean, had a good environment and everything looked really nice and tidy. The bonus is the location. Very close to the bus & train station, next to bus stops and within walking distance of several attractions and the seaside.\n\nDefinitely a place to visit again (city and B&B).

I can just confirm what the other reviews are saying! Everything about it is great! Trieste is a fantastic city, and the host, Laura, is really wonderful! So nice and friendly. She gave me a map of Trieste and recommended many great places to visit and restaurants, which was really great because sometimes it can be difficult to find great food as a vegetarian, but she showed me all the right places. The apartment itself is really clean, beautiful and comfortable. She put a lot of effort into the decorations and art are they are so special, interesting and beautiful. Laura also makes sure that the guests feel comfortable and at home. The location is also perfect because the train station is a short walk away, and so are most of the main points and restaurants in the city. I'm already planning on coming back again very very soon!

I will take this opportunity to thank Laura for being a great host. The B&B is amazing and wonderfully decorated. It is on the first floor, there is a lift and the rooms have double glazing so you will be able to spend a quiet and relaxing night. Located centrally 10 mins walking from the train station and 10 minutes from Piazza Unità d'Italia (main square), it is the perfect venue for spending a few days in Trieste. Laura speaks good English and she will be able to assist you with any needs (she managed to find us a cab at 7 am on Sunday morning!) Breakfast was amazing too with fresh croissants bought from the bakery downstairs, fresh coffee plus a selection of homemade jams, biscuits, etc. So if you decide to come to Trieste, this would be your perfect accommodation!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Trieste, made all the better by the welcome and company of Laura and her family. Communal breakfast in the gorgeous kitchen was a delight and was an ideal way to meet new people and share tips. The apartment is a feast for the senses, the rooms are beautifully furnished and adorned with personal works of art. We would heartily recommend and will hopefully visit again.

The place is very charming and very friendly, like Laura, the owner. Laura is a mine of information for those who know nothing about the city of Trieste. And since it's a very special city, both geographically and historically, it's a great opportunity! It is also worth knowing that the Atelier Lidia Polla is a sort of cave of Ali Baba Mittel Europa version, full of all kinds of objects, grandmother's works, dozens of types of teas and herbal teas, etc. A place you won't forget.

The landlady is very kind and helpful. Extraordinary rooms lovingly decorated, high ceilings (house probably dating back to the early 20th century). Excellent breakfast included in the price. Breakfast can be taken on the terrace. Very good functioning internet (WLAN). Air conditioning is available. The soundproof door suppresses street noise well, but when closed it prevents room ventilation. Central location. Private toilet is accessible from the hallway. Heavy car traffic in front of the house, free parking spaces very rare, however, a parking garage (18€/night) is nearby.

This Bed and Breakfast is unique. The hostess Laura welcomed us extremely warmly and took care of us lovingly. The breakfast was sensational. A huge selection of fine teas, jams, honey, muesli and fruit were available. There was also excellently prepared coffee and a cake baked by Laura herself, which smelled and tasted exquisite. (Sacherkuchen:)) One can tell with what dedication this authentic and beautiful apartment has been furnished and maintained. Here you simply feel comfortable and can explore Trieste from a very good location. We found a second home here in Trieste. Thank you and goodbye Laura! P&R.

We spent three nights in this original and well-kept Bed & Breakfast. The hostess Laura is wonderful and super friendly. On a small terrace, we were served a breakfast in the morning that leaves nothing to be desired (croissants, bread, muesli, fruit, juices...). The accommodation is not far from the canal and also from the train station, so you are not dependent on public transport to discover the beautiful city of Trieste.

Cities can be beautiful in themselves, and Trieste with all its squares, cafes, magnificent facades, osterias, and sea views is undoubtedly beautiful. Such places become even more beautiful for the traveler when they can be explored from a cozy, tastefully designed and excitingly located accommodation, whose extremely warm hostess also has numerous insider tips for exploring the city and conjures up an excellent breakfast including homemade cake on the rooftop every morning. The B&B Lidia Polla is one such accommodation, and Laura is one such hostess. It is easy to understand why the British "Guardian" selected the accommodation in 2015 as one of the "10 of the best B&Bs in Europe". Thank you for this great experience!

Trieste is definitely worth a visit, just for the Atelier Lidia Polla. The B&B is truly a special experience, as unfortunately there are fewer and fewer of them. It is located in a typical Trieste historic building, immersing oneself completely in the city's atmosphere. The rooms are furnished by the owner Laura with beautiful antiques and attention to every little detail. My room had a fantastic new bathroom, furnished in old style with beautiful tiles and fixtures. Breakfast is served in the very beautiful and spacious kitchen (with historic oven, antiques and works of the artist Lidia Polla), or on the huge planted terrace, which guests can also use in the evening. The breakfast itself is delightful, with homemade cakes, tasty croissants, jams and everything one could wish for. In addition, there is the enchanting hostess Laura, who provides tips on all the most beautiful and delicious places in Trieste. You really feel like a guest in her home. The B&B Atelier Lidia Polla may be the authentic place to experience Trieste.

This B&B is something really special, especially for people who appreciate details. It is beautiful and tastefully decorated, with great large rooms and lovely bathrooms, a sweet kitchen as a breakfast room and a pretty terrace. One can feel very comfortable here and escape the hustle and bustle of the city, yet we reached everything by foot.

We were looking for accommodation with personality and we can say that we were thoroughly satisfied. Atelier Lidia Polla is both simple and refined, revealing a taste for beauty without excesses; some antique objects are still used alongside sculptures and paintings that tell the story of a home that still exudes the personality of the artist who lived there. The arrangement and placement of objects reflect the taste of the young hostess. Every detail is well taken care of and measured to welcome guests. Laura, the hostess, is the one who makes the difference; welcoming, spontaneous, attentive, friendly, and efficient, capable of engaging different guests and making shared moments, like breakfast, convivial. For us, the trip to Trieste was a special occasion and, thanks also to Laura, this stay truly was so.

Structure with early 1900s atmospheres, with antique furniture and artistic aura, completely restored and clean. It is located on the outskirts of the center, easily reachable from the train station. Everything tastes good in this small Bed and Breakfast in the heart of Trieste. Every detail has its own reason and deserves attention, as well as the explanations from the host Laura, truly hospitable and very helpful. The late 19th-century apartment has been restored with respect (the wooden floors are wonderful) and, while maintaining the original atmosphere unchanged, it has been brought to modern standards of absolute excellence: perfectly soundproofed room, very comfortable beds, free wifi, minibar, etc. Personally, I fell in love with the kitchen where breakfast is served in the morning. Why choose this accommodation over a traditional hotel? Because here you will never be standardized customers but world travelers!

It was like entering Laura's world, the owner. Apartment transformed into a Bed and Breakfast that manages, in its modest size, to involve and envelop. The fragrance in the room is definitely pleasant, the terrace where you can read, have one of the many teas/herbal teas/infusions available, have an aperitif is appreciable. Also, the breakfast is well taken care of with a good cappuccino, croissant, yogurt, fruit, and savory option (on request). For vintage lovers.

An extremely elegant, beautiful and classy house. Laura, the owner, is brilliant and friendly, very generous with advice. She prepares a breakfast worthy of a luxury hotel but does it with heart. Immaculate cleanliness, flannel sheets with the house emblem as well as towels, bathrobe and slippers. This B&B is worth the trip to Trieste, which is beautiful by the way. A precious opportunity to enjoy the myth of this city. The shapes and colors of Atelier Lidia Polla, a sensitive Trieste artist, live in the corners of this house and in the exquisite cordiality of Laura's granddaughter and Roberto. Great breakfast, the room looked exactly like in the pictures and the cleanliness in the bathrooms and the room was perfect! The only small inconvenience was not having the bathroom in the room (but every room has its own private bathroom). The B&B is practically in the center, so optimal location. B&B with a truly fascinating atmosphere that makes you want to stay there just for the pleasure of being there. Laura welcomes you with a smile and is always attentive to your needs. What I loved most about this B&B is its refined elegance, without a hint of pretentiousness. The sweetness of Laura, the "hostess", for whom every guest is a distinguished guest to be discreetly pampered without holding back. The embarrassment of choice between flavors of jams and excellent herbal teas at the time of the abundant breakfast. The quality, originality, and attention to detail of everything, from the furnishings to the linen to the bathroom detergents. Last but not least, the location is unbeatable for those arriving by train and the extraordinary quality/price ratio, which among other things has adequate and non-punishing rates even for us "solo travelers", so that one feels excellently welcomed instead of being "usurpers" of double rooms, as unfortunately sometimes happens where the value of hospitality is lacking.

Perfect is the right word. Honestly, I really miss Laura and her mother. Wonderful women.
