Antonio is a very kind host. The room was large and clean and Montescaglioso is a wonderful small and charming town to stay.

This place is a gem. My wife and I had the most wonderful time staying at the Foresteria dell'Abbazia! Both Antonio and Elisa were so helpful and accommodating during our stay. The room we stayed in was spacious and very comfortable, with a beautiful view overlooking the Abbazia right in the center of the historic center of Montescaglioso. We also opted for breakfast at the Barlume cafe, which was phenomenal. We already cannot wait to return. Thank you so much, Antonio and Elisa!

A simple but lovely room. Spotlessly clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location. They provided a ticket so we could park nearby without charge. Excellent value for money.

I highly recommend staying in this magnificent place. Everything was perfect and the building was very beautiful. We were warmly welcomed by Antonio, and thank you for his advice on visits and restaurants. Large room for 3 people, magnificent bathroom super clean. Thank you to the cleaning lady, very nice and with good advice too. We loved our stay because it is a village full of charm.

The Foresteria dell'Abbazia is a very welcoming and well-managed structure, located within a historic village of great charm. The view over the Murge from the nearby Porta S.Angelo is spectacular. Recommended the guided tour of the Abbey: the guide is very knowledgeable and allows you to see and understand service areas not accessible on a personal tour. The quality/price ratio of the Foresteria is excellent. The structure does not have its own parking but it is possible to arrange in advance to park where a pass is needed. Excellent management and cleanliness. Strategic position between Matera and the sea. Breakfast in a pastry bar just a few steps away, with exquisite pastries.

This is the best bed and breakfast booked during our entire vacation. Magnificent landscape and view. Spacious and clean room. Comfortable bed. Good welcome at the 'Foresteria dell'Abbazia'. Absolutely recommended.

The Foresteria dell'Abbazia exceeded our expectations. The structure is new and equipped with everything needed. The owner, Mr. Antonio, is a perfect host, full of care and attention. In the town of Montescaglioso, one breathes an air of other times, a real antidote to the frenzy of life in big cities. Everyone knows each other and there is a propensity for availability towards each other. A special mention goes to two young locals, volunteers at the local tourist office. Upon our request for tourist information, they offered to personally accompany us to visit the abbey and take a stroll in the town center, telling us its history.

Everything perfect but it would be advisable to inform that breakfast is not provided on site, but at the bar.
